Drywall damage can come from leaks, plumbing or mechanical work, accidental damage, settling or normal wear around the home. Some repairs are limited to a small opening, while others require removing and replacing a larger damaged section.
XCL handles residential drywall repairs including:
- Water-damaged drywall
- Ceiling repairs
- Wall repairs
- Holes and damaged sections
- Cracks and damaged joints
- Drywall removed for plumbing access
- Openings from HVAC or electrical work
- Repairs following roof or plumbing leaks
- Drywall replacement
- Texture repair and matching
- Painting after drywall repairs
Before repairing water-damaged drywall, the source of the moisture should be corrected so the same problem does not continue.
Texture Matching
A drywall patch may be structurally complete but still stand out if the surrounding wall or ceiling has an existing texture.
XCL works to match the existing texture as closely as possible so the repaired area blends with the surrounding surface. Existing textures can vary based on how they were originally applied, previous repairs, age and paint buildup, so an exact match is not always possible.
The goal is to make the transition between the repaired area and the existing surface as consistent as reasonably possible.
Drywall Repair After Plumbing, HVAC or Electrical Work
Plumbers, HVAC technicians and electricians sometimes need to open a wall or ceiling to reach pipes, wiring or equipment. Once their work is finished, the homeowner may be left with an access opening that still needs to be closed and finished.
XCL can repair the drywall, match the existing texture and complete the paint work when needed.
This service can also be coordinated for homeowners referred to us by plumbing, HVAC, electrical and other service companies after their portion of the work is complete.
Water-Damaged Walls and Ceilings
Roof leaks, plumbing leaks and other water issues can damage drywall, texture and paint.
Once the source of the water has been corrected and the area is ready for repair, XCL can remove and replace damaged drywall as needed, restore the texture and complete the finish work.
When the damage is part of a larger property repair, including insurance-related work, XCL can include the drywall and paint portions of the approved repairs when applicable.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can you match my existing wall or ceiling texture?
Yes. XCL will match the existing texture as closely as reasonably possible. Because textures vary based on the original application, age and previous paint or repairs, an exact match cannot always be guaranteed.
Do you paint after repairing the drywall?
Yes. XCL can include painting as part of the repair so the project does not have to stop after the drywall and texture are completed.
Can you repair ceiling drywall?
Yes. We repair both walls and ceilings, including areas damaged by leaks or opened for access to plumbing, HVAC or electrical components.
Can you repair drywall after a plumber cuts into the wall?
Yes. Once the plumbing work is complete and the area is ready to be closed, XCL can repair the drywall, match the texture and paint the repaired area when needed.
Do you repair water-damaged drywall?
Yes. Once the source of the water has been corrected and the area is ready for repair, XCL can replace or repair the affected drywall and complete the texture and paint work.
